…dio's own IDs (VID 1209 is pid.codes'; the PID is requested in pidcodes/pidcodes.github.com#1354), in the library and the stand-alone server. The README says to give a changed device its own PID; 1209:0001 stays pid.codes' testing PID.

This adds the ScaleNinja Software organisation (
org/scaleninja) and requests PID 1209:4112 for MacVisor USB Audio. What it is. An open-source (MIT), software-defined USB Audio Class 1.0 device: a stereo speaker and a stereo microphone at 48 kHz / 16-bit. MacVisor, a virtual machine manager for macOS on Apple silicon, presents it to Windows virtual machines over USB/IP. Windows binds its built-in USB Audio driver (
usbaudio.sys) to it, so Windows on Arm VMs get sound without a third-party or test-signed audio driver.Source. https://github.com/scaleninja/macvisor-usb-audio (MIT). The device's descriptors, control requests and isochronous streaming are all in the repository, with tests.
Why a PID for a software device. There is no physical hardware: the device is the code in that repository. The same device is presented to every VM on every Mac running MacVisor, so it needs one stable VID/PID rather than per-user test IDs. Windows keys the device's driver binding and per-device audio settings (default device, volume) to it. We'd rather use a properly assigned PID than borrow another vendor's ID or ship the shared testing PID.
Thanks for maintaining pid.codes! Happy to change anything. Please advise in comments.
